Change of programme : « Nuit des pianistes »
There are some changes in the programme for the concert “Nuit des Pianistes” on the 27th July in Salle Médran.
Martha Argerich will not be performing in this concert, although she will be playing in Verbier on 22 and 24 July as previously announced. So for the concert on 27 July, she will be replaced in Nicolas Economou’s arrangement of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons by the young Chinese pianist Yuja Wang who made her Verbier Festival debut last summer, and who has recently signed a long-term contract with Deutsche Grammophon.
This evening now features more than ten of the world’s leading pianists including Emanuel Ax, Hélène Grimaud, Oleg Maisenberg and Jean-Yves Thibaudet as well as the Russian composer Rodion Shchedrin.

Don Giovanni SOLD OUT
Our performance of Mozart’s Don Giovanni on 20 July at 7pm in Salle Médran is sold out. But our patrons will have the opportunity to hear these singers in other concerts in Verbier:
René Pape, Thomas Quasthoff and Bryn Terfel – appearing together on stage for the very first time – join Lang Lang for the second half of his Carte Blanche concert on 21 July at 7pm in Salle Médran: this concert celebrates their friendship with a group of popular songs. Quasthoff performs Schubert’s Die Schöne Mullerin on 25 July at 8pm in the Church with pianist Emanuel Ax and lieder by Brahms on 29 July at 8pm with Charles Spencer at the piano.
The tenor Matthew Polenzani will be accompanied by Malcolm Martineau in a recital on 23 July at 8pm in the Church. Susan Graham offers a journey through French song from the 18th and 19th century in her concert on 24 July at 11am in the Eglise, also with Malcolm Martineau at the piano.
