Verbier Festival Academy photo exhibition in ZürichFrom 17 to 28 May 2012, the Verbier Festival and the Bank Julius Bär invite you to the curated exhibition “Musique en images” at the Swiss Photo Award in Zürich.
The photographs, taken during the summer of 2011 by five outstanding graduates from Swiss schools of photography, capture the atmosphere of the Festival and the unique personality of each Academy member.
An original way to dive into the the fascinating Verbier Festival world.

The Verbier Festival launches its Music Camp!The Verbier Festival is proud to announce the creation of the Verbier Festival Music Camp, launching in summer 2013, the year of the festival’s 20th anniversary!
The new three-week learning programme, led by conductor Daniel Harding, will bring together sixty of the world’s most talented instrumentalists, aged between 15 and 17 years.
Besides intense coaching, private lessons and orchestral rehearsals, the young musicians will make full profit of the Verbier Festival concerts and benefit from the numerous leisure activities offered in Verbier during the summer!

Jazz singer Youn Sun Nah at the 2012 Verbier Festival!The Verbier Festival has just added an exceptional concert to its 2012 programme : on 22 July at 10 pm, Korean Jazz singer Youn Sun Nah will make her debut appearance on the Verbier stage. Acclaimed for her bewitching voice and sheer endless vocal capacities, Youn Sun Nah offers a compelling mix of French song, rock and jazz rhythms.
Her concert is part of the Verbier Festival’s tradition to present a number of outstanding “non-classical” artists which have included Björk, Chick Corea, Rufus Wainwright, Ben Kingsley, Bobby McFerrin, Isabelle Huppert and Juliette Binoche ! This year, the public will be able to enjoy performances by Anoushka Shankar, Roby Lakatos and Pink Martini!

The 2012 Verbier Festival Orchestra is now formed!Congratulations to the 48 young musicians who have been selected to join the 2012 Verbier Festival Orchestra!
The choice was not easy: No less than 881 musicians of 55 different nationalities auditioned for the Verbier Festival Orchestra in Miami, Oslo, Geneva, Berlin, Brussels and New York. Apart from the record participation this year, the jury was happy to note that both the number of Swiss candidates and the number of candidates from Swiss music conservatories had significantly increased, an indication of the vitality and quality of the national talent pool.

Host a young musician !Do you have an apartment or chalet in Verbier and are you interested in hosting a young musician during the Verbier Festival Academy?
The Academy is currently looking for new host families for its musicians who will be studying in Verbier for three weeks in the summer. In exchange for offering bed and breakfast, hosts receive the same benefits as Friends in Category E.
