Applications for the 2012 season are now closed.

About the 2012 auditions

Live auditions for the Verbier Festival Orchestra will be held in the various cities listed below.  Please submit your online application with your preference for an audition site and the application fee (60 CHF).You will immediately receive a confirmation email and in January 2012, you will receive a final confirmation with a specific audition hour.

- Oslo (audition full)
31 January 2012 : strings, winds, brass

- Geneva (auditions full)
2 February 2012 : strings
3 February 2012 : strings, woodwinds
4 February 2012 : harp, percussion
5 February 2012 : woodwinds, brass

- Brussels (auditions full)
7 February 2012 : woodwinds, brass
8 February 2012 : strings

- Berlin (auditions full)
10 February 2012 : strings
11 February 2012 : percussion, harp
12 February 2012 : woodwinds, brass

- New York (auditions full)
14 February 2012 : cellos, violins
15 February 2012 : violins
16 February 2012 : viola, percussion
17 February 2012 : bassoon, horn
18 February 2012 : clarinet, trumpet, trombone, tuba
19 February 2012 : oboe, flute

Harp audition: only in Miami, Geneva and Berlin
Percussion audition : only in Miami, Geneva, Berlin and New York

Please note, for scheduling reasons your final audition date and time will be confirmed to you by email between 9th January and 20th January 2012. Therefore you are advised to make flexible travel arrangements or to wait until you know the specific date and time of your audition.

Please note that there will be no live auditions for double bass players (DVD application only).

Orchestra membership requirements & conditions

Auditions are open to applicants born between 1 January 1984 and 31 December 1994.

We encourage applicants of all nationalities to apply for participation in the orchestra.

Musicians selected to become members of the Orchestra will be required to sign an agreement with the “Fondation du Festival et Académie de Verbier”, accepting the rules of the Orchestra, and making a firm commitment to the entire Verbier Festival Orchestra summer session: from July 1st to August 6th 2012.

Musicians will be provided with travel, food and accommodation during their stay in Verbier.
