A few words about Christine Christensen

While attending the Royal Danish Academy of Music, the then 17-year-old Danish Cellist Christine Christensen met legendary cellist Zara Nelsova in England. After a summer under Nelsova’s tutelage in London, Ms. Christensen was extended an offer to study with her in New York City. From there, Christine studied in Madrid, Spain and thereafter completed her studies at Manhattan School of Music from where she holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree.

With a tone described as "warm and throbbing" Christine's career has taken her to concert halls all around the world, including Mariinsky Opera and Ballet Theater in St. Petersburg, Russia, Rio de Janeiro Municipal Theater in Brazil and Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Having just finished a 4 year program with the New World Symphony, America's Orchestral Academy, Christine Christensen is currently living in the United States where she is a sought after Chamber Musician, Orchestral Musician and Teacher.

Christine Christensen has attended the Verbier Festival, Britten-Pears Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and the Tanglewood Music Center. While at Tanglewood, Ms. Christensen was awarded the Karl Zeise Memorial Award for her “outstanding musicianship and talent".
