The Verbier Festival Pôles d’excellence
In addition to its programming of internationally renowned artists, the Verbier Festival has built itself around several Pôles d’Excellence: Academy, Orchestras, Discovery, Fest’Off, Amateur Chamber Music Week and the Friends. To integrate them fully into the visual identity of the Verbier Festival, a colour has been given to each area. This graphical code makes up the Verbier Festival logo and is featured on all Verbier Festival literature.
The Verbier Festival Academy enables the best young soloists in the world to work under the watchful eye of great artists, following a rigorous selection process. For three weeks, the stars of tomorrow benefit from a number of masterclasses, which are open to all, and have many occasions to demonstrate their talents.
The Verbier Festival Orchestras are two orchestral bodies of a very high standard: the Verbier Festival Orchestra and the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra. They comprise young and talented musicians from all around the world, working under the batons of the greatest conductors and soloists of the day.T hese two ensembles are an essential element of the Verbier Festival’s success, and perform regularly in concerts over the summer.
Verbier Festival Discovery offers a programme of lectures for adults and educational and creative activities enabling children to be introduced to the world of music and the arts.
Verbier Festival Fest’Off brings the resort to life, offering free concerts and shows every day at various sites, over the whole Festival period.
The Verbier Festival Amateur Chamber Music Week is an opportunity for non-professional musicians to practise under the guidance of established artists, and thus to share their passion for chamber music within the spectacular setting and atmosphere of the Swiss Alps.
The Association of the Friends of the Verbier Festival is the event’s most treasured partner and has been actively supporting the Festival since its foundation. Through their donations and services rendered, the Friends make an active contribution to the development and continuation of one of the greatest performing arts festivals in Europe.
