The Christmas Concert of the Friends in Verbier

Daniel Lozakovich (violin) and Frank Dupree (piano)

The Friends of the Verbier Festival’s Christmas Concert will be performed by two brilliant young musicians, Daniel Lozakovich and Frank Dupree. It will be held on Wednesday, December 28th (6.30 pm) at the Église.

Two years ago, his entrance onto the scene held the promise of greatness. Last year’s concert with Daniel Hope confirmed our expectations: Daniel Lozakovich definitely has a future as a great musician. The young Swedish violinist (15 years old) unites an extraordinary talent with an exceptional fidelity to the Verbier Festival, which was the first to give him a chance. In June 2016, he also became the youngest artist to sign onto the famous record label, Deutsche Grammophon. It is during a moment of real musical fellowship that Daniel Lozakovich, along with the brilliant German pianist Frank Dupree, invites us to share in our traditional Christmas concert organised for the Friends.

The concert programme at the Eglise will feature performances of Bach’s renowned Chaconne, the energetic first movement of Beethoven’s Violin Sonata No. 7 as well as the spiraling Introduction and Rondo Capricciosothat Camille Saint-Saëns wrote for the young prodigy  Pablo de Saraste (also 15 years old! / only 15 years old!!).

Concert ticket prices : CHF 70.- (full price) / CHF 60.- (Friends of the Verbier Festival & residents of Bagne) /  Free (under 16 years old). Free mulled wine from 5.00 pm.
