Hiu Sing Fan, age 21, was born in Hong Kong. He started playing the violin since the age of four. At age six, he won the first prize in Hong Kong Schools Violin Competition. At age eight, he became one of the youngest students in China Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. He has also won numerous competitions including the Adelphi Chamber Orchestra Concerto Competition and the New York International Artists Association Violin Competition.
Hiu Sing earned his Bachelor of Music degree at the Juilliard School with Hyo Kang and I-Hao Lee with the support by Cordelia Lee Scholarship and Betty & Daniel Bloomfield Fund Scholarship. He has been mentored by Nikolaj Znaider, Aaron Rosand, Sylvia Rosenberg, Jerome Lowenthal, Daniel Phillips, and participated in masterclasses given by Vadim Repin, the Juilliard Quartet and the Emerson Quartet.
Hiu Sing is currently studying under Lena Neudauer and Julia Fischer at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München.
