Opera Dahu Project
The Verbier Festival Opera Dahu Project introduces children, aged 6 to 9, to the imaginary world of legends and myths told through opera. Classrooms become ‘Dahu Sanctuaries’, where youngsters re-imagine some of opera’s tallest-tales. Students become actors, singers, dancers, and set and costume designers under the guidance of Geneva’s Espace Opéra, Illustrator and animator Marc Philippin, and singers and instrumentalists from the Verbier Festival Academy & Orchestras. They conclude the project by producing and performing their creations on-stage.
An intensive Opera Dahu Pilot Project called ‘Les Petits Papageni’ will be offered to children during the Verbier Festival this summer.
