RICHARD WAGNER (1813-1883)
Die Walküre, Act 3 : Scene 1 & 3 (Act 2)

Scenes from Acts 1 and 3 of Die Walküre, the music drama that forms the beating heart of Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen, are conducted by Gianandrea Noseda. Both passionate and rigorous in his interpretations, in 2021 he becomes General Music Director of the Zurich Opera, where he will lead a new production of the complete Ring cycle. Joining Matthias Goerne, full of insight as Wotan, and Sara Jakubiak, radiant as Sieglinde, are Michelle DeYoung, a celebrated mezzo-soprano assuming the soprano role of Brünnhilde, and baritone Stephan Genz, moving into tenor territory as Siegmund.
