Experience a special musical journey inspired by Alexander Pushkin’s beloved fairy tale, The Fisherman and the Fish. Composed by Nikolai Tcherepnin as six evocative musical sketches, this enchanting story unfolds through pianist Giuseppe Guarrera’s playing—Tabor Award for Piano winner at the Verbier Festival Academy in 2018—and Alexis Milligan’s vivid narration. Before the performance, children can join a fun creative workshop that brings the story and music to life. This timeless tale invites us to think about wishes, gratitude, and knowing when enough is enough. This performance serves as a perfect prelude to the Verbier Festival Academy Atelier Lyrique’s performance of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, taking place at Salle des Combins on the Festival’s closing afternoon on August 3 — itself based on a story by Pushkin.
Narration in English.
