“Fujita is a musician of tremendous versatility and taste,” The Times has written, “with a poetic sense of pulse and eloquent, insightful, fearless articulation.” Playing a beautifully balanced programme of Mozart, Chopin and Schumann, Mao Fujita makes his Mainstage debut at the Verbier Festival, having attended the Academy in 2019. In 2017, while still a student at the Tokyo College of Music, he won the 27th Clara Haskil Piano Competition, held in Vevey, going on to consolidate this achievement with second prize at the Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow in June 2019.
