Offer Housing

The Friends of the Verbier Festival
Housing represents a significant cost to the Verbier Festival. By offering accommodation to a visiting artist, student or one of the more than 200 members of staff, you allow the Festival to devote more funds to artistic and learning programmes while benefitting from newly formed friendships.

Host a Verbier Festival Academy Musician

The Verbier Festival Academy has been a career launchpad for many of today’s most sought-after musicians. Every year, young emerging artists come to Verbier to benefit from mentorship of the great masters, to fine-tune their musical skills and to exchange creative ideas. The Friends of the Verbier Festival host and/or provide accommodation to musicians of the Academy’s Soloists & Ensembles Programme, Atelier Lyrique, and Audio Recording Programme. Musicians are normally aged 16 to 32 and come from around the globe. These Friends play an important part in each musician’s learning experience. Many hosts renew their involvement year after year and have developed long-term friendships with Academy musicians. Approximately 60 rooms are needed for 2025.

what is involved?

  • Hosts provide musicians with a bedroom of their own, either for a limited number of days or for the entire Festival. The Academy’s soloists, ensembles, singers and audio engineer interns will arrive on the Sunday before the start of the Festival (Sunday, 13 July 2025) and will depart the Monday following the Festival (Monday, 4 August 2025). Their busy schedules include personal work and daytime rehearsals punctuated by concerts until late in the evening. When possible, we ask that hosts provide daily breakfast to students. The Festival holds insurance in the unlikely event of damage to your property or belongings.
  • Hosts are offered membership in The Friends of the Verbier Festival and are eligible for membership benefits subject to the type of accommodation and the duration that housing is made available. Benefits, all of which are administered by the Friends Office, are listed online here

  • Once they have agreed to welcome a student into their home, hosts will be sent a link to an on-line questionnaire by the Academy team which aids in matching guests with hosts. For new hosts, the Festival’s Housing team will arrange a time to visit your home.
  • Housing matters leading up to, during and after the Festival are managed directly with the Housing Department, including cleaning and laundry services (applicable only to hosts who are not in-residence with their guest(s). The Academy team of course works closely with the Housing team.
