Verbier Festival CSR Policy

Towards a more sustainable development

The Verbier Festival takes place in the heart of an exceptional alpine environment, whose preservation is a shared responsibility. True to its artistic, educational, and human mission, the Festival seeks to embed its development within a progressive, pragmatic, and transparent corporate social responsibility approach.

Aware of today’s environmental, social, and economic challenges, the Festival has completed its first carbon footprint assessment covering the 2025 season. This analysis represents a foundational step in building a CSR (corporate social responsability) strategy adapted to the realities of an international cultural event.

Our Commitments
  • Analyse and progressively reduce the environmental impact of its activities;
  • Identify the main sources of emissions related to transport, logistics, and infrastructure;
  • Encourage more responsible management of resources, materials, and waste;
  • Promote continuous improvement of existing practices.
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive working environment attentive to the well-being of teams, artists, students, volunteers, and audiences;
  • Encourage dialogue, prevention, and the sharing of best practices;
  • Preserve the human and educational values that have shaped the Festival’s identity since its creation.
  • Strengthen the structure and oversight of its ESG approach;
  • Progressively integrate sustainability issues into its overall strategy;
  • Uphold an approach based on transparency and continuous improvement.
Future actions

The Sustainability Committee, approved by the Foundation Board, oversees the coordination of this initative with the support of a Sustainability Selegate responsible for monitoring, reporting, and formalising the measures implemented across all departments.

By the end of 2027, the Verbier Festival will complete:

  • The detailed analysis of its first carbon footprint assessment;
  • The identification of priority areas for action;
  • The definition of an initial ESG roadmap;
  • The formalization of key policies and objectives.

The establishment of this CSR policy marks the beginning of a long-term commitment built on humility, responsibility, and a desire for continuous improvement.

Together for a more sustainable Verbier Festival

Collective Responsibility

Each summer, the Verbier Festival brings together artists, students, staff, partners and music lovers from around the world, united by a shared passion for music. They also share the privilege of experiencing one of the most breathtaking landscapes in the Alps, and the opportunity to help protect it through simple gestures: walking, using a reusable water bottle, reducing waste, choosing local resources.

Through its VF Green initiative and the workmof the technical and security teams, the Festival has been committed for several years now to a concrete, collective and gradual approach to sustainability.

Our Commitments
  • Raise awareness among our audiences regarding our CSR approach,
  • Reduce our environmental impact,
  • Encourage soft mobility and public transport,
  • Promote local and seasonal products,
  • Encourage reduction, reuse and recycling within the technical department,
  • Measure our progress and pursue continuous improvement.
Our Vision

We believe that a sustainable approach should not be based solely on constraints or sacrifices. Every action matters, and small collective efforts repeated over time can create meaningful change.

“Because the future of music is also written through respect for life and nature.”
