A discreet maestro, Temirkanov was admired for his uncompromising artistic integrity and his deep understanding of the repertoire, particularly the works of Tchaikovsky, which he conducted with unmatched sensitivity. His performances, shaped by a lifetime dedicated to music, resonated with the brilliance and passion of his Leningrad heritage. His interpretation of Swan Lake, a piece he conducted countless times throughout his career, was always a highlight, offering both musicians and audiences a glimpse into his profound connection with Russian music.
