VF at Home IDAGIO Playlist

The Verbier Festival is a truly global inter-generational gathering place that attracts artists, students and music-lovers from all over the world. Due to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, the 27th edition of the Festival has sadly been cancelled. But we can still imagine what might have been this summer in Verbier by devouring musical treats from some of the Festival’s favourite artists and from those whose artistry have left an indelible mark.Imagine yourself in the beauty of the Swiss Alps as you breathe in this regularly updated playlist by a host of Verbier Festival guest curators.

MARTIN’S COUPS DE CŒUR
curated by Blythe Teh Engstroem

Hello dear Verbier at Home listeners,

It was with heavy heart that the Verbier Festival made the decision to cancel its 2020 edition, and we all feel its loss acutely. My name is Blythe Teh Engstroem, and it’s been a bittersweet experience to curate this and upcoming playlists. Nevertheless, the power of art and music is to express and to move, and so I have deeply appreciated compiling different « sound views » from what was to be offered this coming summer in Verbier. The performances presented here in this first playlist are among my husband Martin’s favourites. Imagine yourself up in our beloved village of Verbier, surrounded by the Swiss Alps, where you would have heard these same works and, in some cases, performed by the same artists!
