As twilight settles over Verbier on 1 August, the resort comes alive with music, movement, and glowing creatures. Leading the way is the Peuple Lumière—spirits of Alpine animals—guiding families through the streets in a festive procession to celebrate Swiss National Day.
Children and their families join the parade with handmade lanterns and percussion instruments created during VF KiDS’ workshops. The procession weaves through the heart of the resort, beginning on Rue de la Poste and making its way via Place Centrale to the official National Day celebration site on Route de Verbier Station. It’s a moment of togetherness, wonder, and homegrown creativity—an unforgettable end to a summer evening.
