The Nutcracker

Drawing Contest

Calling all young artists…

This holiday season, take time out to explore the dream world of the Sugar Plum Fairy and Prince Orgeat! UNLTD invites children ages 5 to 12 to create drawings based on the world of the famous fairytale that inspired Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s ballet, The Nutcracker.

Thirteen drawings will be selected by members of the Verbier Festival artistic team and illustrator Marc Philippin. These works will be incorporated into a live-animated film created and screened by Mr Philippin during an all-Tchaikovsky concert featuring the Verbier Festival Orchestra and conductor Vasily Petrenko at the Verbier Festival on 22 July 2024.

All the drawings received will be displayed at the Verbier Festival 2024.

You could win…

  • One winning design per age category will be chosen by the jury; these young artists will receive three Category B tickets to the concert on 22 July at  Salle des Combins (for one child and two guests), valued at CHF 450.
  • Up to 10 other drawings will also be awarded across age categories; these young artists will each win two Category C tickets for the same concert (for a child and a guest), a prize valued at CHF 180.

Winners will be contacted by email by 15 March 2024.
