Edward Walton

Biography

Edward Walton was awarded Second Prize in the junior division of the 2021 Menuhin International Violin Competition. He is the youngest musician selected for the 2022 ABC Young Performer Awards (Australia), and in 2019, was awarded First prize at the Il Piccolo Violino Magico in Italy, the Medallion International Concerto Competition (USA) the Jeunes Artistes musicals du Centre in France and the International Grand Prize Virtuoso competition in London. Edward has appeared as a soloist with orchestras internationally and has performed recitals in Australia, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and at London’s Royal Albert Hall. In 2022 he makes his debut with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. He has attended the Kronberg Academy, Interlaken and Keshet Eilon master courses receiving masterclasses from Maxim Vengerov, Mauricio Fuks and Zakhar Bron. He studies with Robin Wilson and Emily Sun, and plays a Gagliano violin on loan through Beare’s International Violin Society.
