Then Argerich was joined by virtuoso violinist Ivry Gitlis and young star pianists Khatia Buniatishvili and Yuja Wang, and together they performed Von Paradis’ Sicilienne, Tchaikovsky’s Melody for Violin and Piano, and Kreisler’s Schön Rosmarin and Liebesleid. The evening culminated with Argerich performing Ravel’s La Valse in a transcription for two pianos with fellow Argentinian, dear friend, and frequent musical partner, Nelson Goerner.
