A few days ago, Barbara Hannigan received the Polar Music Prize in Stockholm alongside Queen and Herbie Hancock, also recipients in 2025. Equivalent to the Nobel Prize in Music, this supreme award recognizes Barbara Hannigan’s extraordinary talent and exemplary career (don’t miss her concert on July 17th, opening the Festival, which promises to be fabulous).

Ekaterina Bonyushkina
A student of the VF Academy in 2024, the 22-year-old Russian pianist continues to astound with her extraordinary poise and maturity. A multiple first prize laureate, including the renowned Grand Piano in Moscow, she will make her Verbier debut with a recital featuring great German romantics as well as the irresistibly jazzy Variations of Ukrainian composer Nikolai Kapustin.

Ksenija Sidorova
A standout voice on today’s contemporary accordion scene, Ksenija Sidorova brings fresh, unexpected colours to her instrument. Renowned for her expressive power and instinctive musical interplay, she moves effortlessly through a repertoire that spans from Schubert to Weill, with forays into the worlds of Stravinsky, Piazzolla and Voitenko. Alongside baritone Thomas Hampson, she crafts a bold and captivating recital that navigates between romantic intensity, cabaret flair, and the hypnotic pulse of tango.

Yulia Matochkina
Winner of the 15th International Tchaikovsky Competition, mezzo-soprano Yulia Matochkina is currently triumphing at the Munich Staatsoper as Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana. It is therefore a great joy to see her again this summer in Verbier in this same role alongside other exceptional singers, Freddie De Tommaso (Turridu) and Ludovic Tézier (Alfio), under the baton of one of today’s finest opera conductors, Fabio Luisi. An evening where we will hear in the first part another masterpiece of Italian verismo, Gianni Schicchi, with the irresistible Bryn Terfel in the title role.

Isata Kanneh-Mason
Previously introduced to Verbier audiences alongside her cellist brother Sheku, this time Isata will take the stage with Anastasia Kobekina. Together, they will perform a splendid programme of cello and piano sonatas, including works by Nadia Boulanger, Schumann, Debussy, and Franck. Isata will also be featured on August 1 at the Église, performing Elgar’s magnificent Piano Quintet, Op. 84.

Viktoria Postnikova
Making her first-ever appearance at the Verbier Festival, Viktoria Postnikova is a true legend of the Russian piano school. Alongside her husband, the renowned conductor Gennady Rozhdestvensky, she has left an indelible mark on the world of music for over 60 years. A close friend of Yehudi Menuhin and Yuri Temirkanov, Postnikova has crafted a special programme in honor of Shostakovich, featuring a rare transcription of his Symphony No.14 for piano and voice, performed with Ekaterina Bakanova and Alexandros Stavrakakis.

Khatia Buniatishvilli
It’s a highly anticipated return. The flamboyant Khatia Buniatishvili will be at Verbier on August 3 to bring the 32nd edition to a spectacular close. With Paavo Järvi, a dream lineup awaits, featuring: Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No.1. In the second half, another masterpiece will be performed with the Verbier Festival Orchestra: Mahler’s Symphony No.1, Titan.
