JOHANNES BRAHMS
Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat Major, Op. 83
- Verbier Festival Orchestra
- Antonio Pappano conductor
Premiered in Budapest in 1881, Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat Major was an immediate success: one of his greatest musical creations, it has become a pillar of the piano repertoire. Strauss’s symphonic poem Ein Heldenleben (“A Hero’s Life”) was the crowning gem of a decade of symphonic poems, after which he turned his creative efforts toward opera.
